U.S. Marines investigated for sharing nude photos of female Marines, veterans – National

The activity was revealed by The War Horse, a nonprofit news organization run by Marine veteran Thomas Brennan.
The Defense Department is investigating reports that some Marines shared naked photographs of female Marines, veterans and other women on a secret Facebook page, some of which were taken without their knowledge.
“The Marine Corps is deeply concerned about allegations regarding the derogatory online comments and sharing of salacious photographs in a closed website,” Alvis said.

Hundreds of U.S. military personnel and veterans have been implicated in a Facebook group that distributed nude photos of “female colleagues and other women” and promoted sexual violence, the Marine Corps Times reported Sunday.
“We need to be brutally honest with ourselves and each other: This behavior hurts fellow Marines, family members and civilians.
Photographs of other women were posted to the Facebook page or linked to externally via Google Drive, according to the CIR.
