Almost half of the issues reported said there was a total blackout, while 36 per cent reported problems logging in, and 20 per cent reported issues with the app.
The glitch seems to have occurred within around 1pm ET and one Twitte user said it is affecting ‘millions’ of users worldwide – this is the second issue to plague Facebook this week.
according to Some Google users had a similar issue last night, which might explain any Google OnHub issues.
We have fixed the issue and are in the process of clearing the affected accounts from this recovery flow.
Facebook has issued the following statement in response:”Earlier today an error in one of our systems designed to help prevent suspicious account access sent a small set of people to our account recovery flow unnecessarily.
“[Users] can go through the flow,” the source said, “but if they take no action, we will clear the recovery flow on their behalf very soon.”
And if you got an error earlier, there shouldn’t be anything that you need to do to reinstate your account.

It appears Facebook is logging users out and blocking them from getting back in.
Some were also kicked out of the app and sent to a new login page – then told their account could not ve verified.
A Facebook spokesperson told the Daily Mail : “Earlier today an error in one of our systems designed to help prevent suspicious account access sent a small set of people to our account recovery flow unnecessarily.”
