LG’s G6 is the first announced third-party phone to ship with Assistant, while other hardware partners will tout out-of-the-box support in short order.
And if you insist on getting Assistant with your next phone, you won’t have to be too picky.
Australians and Canadians will be next in line for English support, while Germans will also get it in their native language.
The initial rollout will focus on English-speaking users in the US.
Other languages are due in the “coming year,” Google says.
Google Assistant comes to recent Android phones
The Google Assistant will automatically come to eligible Android phones running Nougat and Marshmallow with Google Play Services.
You’ll also see the Google Assistant on some newly announced partner devices, including the LG G6.
The Google Assistant will begin rolling out this week to English users in the U.S., followed by English in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, as well as German speakers in Germany.
We’ll continue to add more languages over the coming year.
