NASA already planned to send an unmanned SLS rocket with an Orion capsule to orbit the Moon

As it stated in NASA already planned to send an unmanned SLS rocket with an Orion capsule to orbit the Moon, but will accelerate the program to send astronauts on the previously unmanned mission in late 2019.
Trump seemingly wants to return U.S. astronauts to the Moon and then send them on to Mars, which will require the giant Space Launch System (SLS) rocket currently being debated in Congress.
Trump has yet to name a NASA director, but available information identifies Oklahoma Republican Rep. Jim Bridenstine, a former Navy pilot, as the top contender.
Zubrin previously told The DCNF that accelerating NASA’s return to the moon could potentially save taxpayers $10 billion dollars in expenses.

SpaceX representatives said the first unpiloted Crew Dragon (or Dragon 2) test flight will launch by the end of 2017.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk unveiled an ambitious plan yesterday to fly two private space tourists around the moon in 2018.
Musk did not reveal who had purchased the moon flight seats on Dragon, or how much the trip cost per person.
The moon flight and commercial Dragon flights for NASA will serve as steppingstones for SpaceX’s ultimate goal, building a sustainable colony on Mars, Musk said.

SpaceX Could Beat NASA Back to the Moon

referring to If SpaceX can address those issues, it will be on track to launch a moon mission on the 50th anniversary of Apollo 8, NASA’s first mission to orbit the moon.
SpaceX’s plan to fly two private citizens around the moon would put the company ahead of NASA’s planned crewed flight with its Space Launch System (SLS) megarocket.
Yesterday, SpaceX announced its intention to send passengers on a crewed Dragon spacecraft, launched with a Falcon Heavy rocket, around the moon near the end of 2018.

This would follow on the heels of the company’s robotic and crewed flights to the International Space Station, and an uncrewed Falcon Heavy moon trip.
