Ultra-cheap phone carrier launches ultra-cheap Android phone

The FreedomPop V7 costs just £59 (roughly $72), and is launching today in the U.K. and Spain.
Furthermore, the FreedomPop V7 ships unlocked, allowing you to use SIM cards from any other network.
It also intends to ship the FreedomPop V7 with one of its own SIM cards.
The LA-based company also offers similarly generous packages in several European markets, including Spain, the UK, and Mexico.
This effectively means that if you’re a light user, you can spend £59 for a cell phone, and get the service for free indefinitely.

as declared in It’s also just unveiled its first ever own-branded Android phone — the Freedom Pop  V7.
It uses other carriers’ networks and offers free (but limited) mobile plans, making its money by charging for extra calls, texts, and data.

It’s also not locked to FreedomPop’s service, which means you could feasibly buy one, use FreedomPop’s service for free and then switch to another provider.
FreedomPop is a mobile virtual network operator, or MVNO.
