Google releases Chrome Enterprise with active directory backing

On Tuesday Google is relleasing Chrome Enterprise, a service that will give IT admins inside enterprises the ability to manage devices running Google’s open-source Chrome OS deskhighest operating system, using tools they’re endeed familiar with.

The new license, that will cost $fifty per year per Chrome OS device, is an enhancement of the Chrome device management license that’s been obtainable since 2011.

News Google Targets Businesses with Chrome Enterprise Offering and VMware Management PartnershipGoogle this week reported a new Chrome Enterphight license, its latest effort to bring the Chrome OS OS and Chromebook laptops into the business world.
Those Chrome Management licensees will be “automatically upgraded to Chrome Enterprise,” a Google spokesperson indicated, during the Q&A portion of the talk.
Google also is describing the Chrome Enterphight license as having further robust management capabilities than the current Chrome Management license.
With Chrome Enterprise, Chrome OS can be integrated with Microsoft Active Directory, and there’s “native” integration with printers, too, Sheth argued.
“We’re involving this time integration with Microsoft Active Directory, and so customers can be capable of sign in to Active Directory as well as join a domain with Active Directory,” Sheth said.
